Pope Francis Meets with Jesuits of the South Pacific Region

The traditional meeting of Pope Francis’ journeys, with the Jesuits of the country or region he is visiting, took place at Bangkok on Friday, November 22, 2019, at the Nunciature, before the Pope’s lunch.

The Holy Father talked with 48 Jesuits of the Asian South Pacific in a living room of the Nunciature, where a statue of the great Jesuit Saint Francis Xavier recalled the first Baptisms in the countries of the region.

The Vatican has not reported this “private” visit, but Italian Jesuit Antonio Spadaro, Director of the Italian Review “Civilta Cattolica, who is accompanying the Pontiff on his journey, commented on Twitter in English: <there were> great questions and great answers!”

In fact, after every visit of the Pope, “Civilta Cattolica” publishes the content of Pope Francis’ conversations with his fellow members of the Society of Jesus of the country or region visited.
