Pope Francis arrived at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on Saturday evening, becoming the second Pope to visit Japan.

In his first meeting in Japan, Pope Francis encourages Japan’s tiny Catholic community to witness daily to the Lord by protecting life and proclaiming the Gospel of compassion and mercy.

Wrapping up his visit to Thailand, the Pope left Thai soil at around 10 AM local time.

Fr Renzo De Luca, SJ will be a special interpreter for Pope Francis during his Apostolic Journey to Japan on 23-26 November. Fr Renzo has a friendly relationship with the Pope for their time together in Argentina.
